P5N-E XMS 2 Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi there, whenever I go to boot my computer up with 2 x Corsair XMS CM2x1024-6400 it locks up instantly. I have tried altering the timings to no avail. However, it boots up fine with 1 stick. My specs are below, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Asus P5N-E Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor

EVGA 8800GTS 320MB Superclocked

2 x 1GB Corsair XMS 2 CM2x1024-6400

Western Digital 200GB SATA Hard Drive

Arctic Power 500W PSU

Are you setting your Vdimm to 2.0V? Most motherboards default to the JEDEC voltage of 1.8V and this is not enough for higher end DRAM. Use one stick, enter your BIOS and set your DRAM voltage to 2.0v. Shut down and insert the second stick and restart.

I would go through the reseller you purchased them from, he will be able to do the RMA for you if it is an individual. If it was a reseller all he would need to do was to provide you with a invoice and you can submit them directly to us.
