DerekT
Are you set on DDR3 as your system solution? If so, then my advice would be useless :)

DerekT
yes since asus p5k3 mb is working with ddr3 only. which ddr3 memory is better for non-overclocked cpu I'm sorry, I haven't worked with any DDR3 and so can not advise you. You will have to wait until RamGuy or someone else who has worked with this DRAM comes to advise you. RamGuy will be back on Monday. @ RamgGuy I'll buy the board if you supply the DRAM for testing purposes...
RAINFIRE
I use Asus P5K3 Deluxe, Intel E6850 and Corsair CM3X1024-1333C9. It boots up fine with default BIOS settings. I do have a question, though. When I try to install Windows 64 Bit XP Pro, the system reboots. I'm not sure if it is a memory problem. I've updated to the latest Asus BIOS (7.04) which said to address DIMM problems. In Windows Setup, it reboots, usually at the point of loading the NTFS driver. At first I suspected the SATA/AHCI driver, but it does the same thing when the SATA drives are disconnected from the system. Any ideas?
DerekT
To see if you have a problem with the memory, you can download memtest 86+ from http://www.memtest.org http://www.memtest.org/#downiso Burn the ISO image to an optical disk and then boot to the optical disk. Allow at least to full passes. Results?
RAINFIRE
Nope, no errors. It ran all night.
DerekT
I'm not sure if it is a memory problem. If you passed Memtest, then your problem is very likely not one of memory. What have you set your BIOS memory voltages and timings at? Try these: AI Overclocking: Manual CPU Ratio Control: Auto FSB Strap to Northbridge: 333 FSB Frequency: 333 PCI-E Frequency: 100 DRAM Frequency: 1333 DRAM Command Rate: 2T DRAM Timing Control: Manual CAS# Latency: 9 RAS# to CAS# Delay: 9 RAS# Precharge: 9 RAS# Activate to Precharge: 24 TWR: Auto TRFC: Auto TWTR: Auto TRRD: Auto TRTP: Auto DRAM Static Read Control: Enabled Transaction Booster: Auto Boost/Relax level Level: Auto Clock Over-Charging Mode: Auto CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled CPU Voltage: Auto CPU Voltage Reference: Auto CPU Voltage Damper: Enabled CPU PLL Voltage: Auto DRAM Voltage: 1.6v FSB Termination Voltage: Auto North Bridge Voltage: Auto North Bridge Voltage Reference: Auto South Bridge Voltage: Auto Advance CPU Settings CPU Ratio Control: Auto C1E Suppport: Enabled Max CPUID Value Limit: Disabled Vanderpool Technology: Enabled CPU TM Function: Enabled Execute Disable Bit: Enabled PECI: Disabled
