Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 and 4 GB Twin2X1024-6400C4

Recommended Posts

Hi, first of all forgive me if my english is a little bad, I'm from Italy.....

I wish to know if I install 4 Gb of Twin2X1024-6400C4 ( 2 couples of sticks) on the Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 will they work at 800 Mhz????

I saw that these modules, when two couples are installed, on other motherboards (like asus m2n32sli with Nvidia 590 chipset) works only at 667 mhz and I don't know if on Nvidia 680I chipset is the same thing....

thanks in advance to who will answer me

With some MB's they can run 4 modules at 800 MHz and some cannot, you would just have to try and see. If you have problems I would suggest setting the NB/MCH Chipset voltage +.05 Volts and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org to be sure its stable, but with 2 sets of Twin2x modules DDR667 would be suggested.
