Duck
I have twin 1024mb sticks in a Asus P5W DH Deluxe MB. They are XMS2-6400 DDR2 at 800mhz. CL 5.5.5.12 timings. I want to order 2 more to bring the total to 4 Gigs. I have 2 choices. I can order a copy of the original except the timing is advertized as 5.5.5.18 or I can order(my preferred pick) a XMS2-6400C4 DDR2 at 800 mhz with a CL 4.4.4.12. My question is : Can I mix a pair of new sticks with faster timings with the older slower sticks without any disadvantages ? Is it okay to buy a 5.5.5.18 to pair up with a 5.5.5.12 or should I look elsewhere ? Thanks in advance:confused:
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 19, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 19, 2007 With 4 modules you may be limited to DDR667 so it may not matter but you will have to manually set the timings to Cas 5-5-5-15 at 2.0 Volts with 4 modules. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted September 24, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted September 24, 2007 The XM2S-6400C4 modules are set to Cas 5-5-5-18 by default the tested settings would have to be manually set. So they should work with the non C4's
