gordon142
I really like the fact that the Corsair Flash Padlock is completely software independent. However, once bit of information I have not been able to find is whether the data on the drive is actually encrypted. This seems a strange omission, as without encryption, a malicious party could simply remove the flash chip from the drive and get to all my data, essentially making the security only a mild deterrent. So, I ask: Does the Corsair Flash Padlock use data encryption, and if so, what kind and strength?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 19, 2007 No it is not encrypted on this drive, but later versions will use a controller that will encrypt on the fly most like in version 2.0 of this product. And it would be difficult for some one to remove the components with out damaging the components.
capatt
Any idea when the next version is due, or when a larger capacity will appear?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 1, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 1, 2007 I would not expect it before the first of next year to later Mid year 2008.
