Burdy
Hi I have a 8gb Flash Voyager USB stick and I want to copy some big files on it (4gb, 6gb disc images). But when I try XP says "drive is full", although there is no data on the stick. I tried copying many small files (~400mb) and could copy 6gb of them on the stick without problems, so why doesn't it work with the big files? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 18, 2007 You are hitting some limitations of the Fat file system, do a search for it on Wickpidia. And try and format the DRIVE in NTFS if you like then you will be able to copy up to a 4.0 Gig file.
Burdy
I see, Wiki says Fat32 only supports files with size up to 4gb minus 1 byte. Windows offers no other option than to format the stick with fat32, is format with ntfs hidden somewhere or do I need a different software? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 18, 2007 Change the properties of the drive to non removable in device manager then you can format it in NTFS.
