wickYrult
Hello, since a week I own this system: Windows Vista Business 64bit Intel Q6600 2 X TWIN2X2048-6400C4 (Kit)(actually 1 used) Timing 800mHz@4-4-4-12 2,1V 2 x Leadtek 8800 GTS Asus Striker extreme (BIOS 1305) 750 W Power supply ... Now my problem: When I use all of the 2 X TWIN2X2048-6400C4 I get alsways Blue Screens in the boot process of Windows Vista but when I use only 2 of the Ram modules with the same timing an Voltage the system works absolutly stable. Where is the problem ? Maybe someone could help help me ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 14, 2007 Do you have the patch installed from Microsoft for more than 3 Gig?
wickYrult
Do you have the patch installed from Microsoft for more than 3 Gig? PATCH ? Do I have to download it especially or downloads the windows update tool it automaticly? And when I have Windows on the newest stand, would I have installed the patch? I tested it only at the installation of Windows so I couldn't say if it works, but I will try:) So when it works, I will tell you and when not I will tell you too. :) btw. sorry for my english if it is that bad :) I can 't evaluate this moment :D

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 17, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 17, 2007 Set the memory Frequency at DDR667 and have you tested the system with http://www.memtest.org with legacy USB disabled? You'll need to install MS patch 929777 from Microsoft for more than 3 GIG in Win Vista. You can search for it at http://www.microsoft.com. But whatch the version of Vista you have it may not be this specific link.
wickYrult
OK. I've tested 4 ram modules with 4-4-4-12-2T @ 711Mhz with Memtest and all was ok. I've got no errors. Even windows works fine ... But why I couldn't use the ram with 800 mhz ? Any Idea ? In this forum I've read that ram with more than 800mhz run better on the board than ram with 800 mhz. Did anyone make this experience, too ? Because I prefer more 800 mhz than 711mhz :)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 20, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 20, 2007 If either set will pass at DDR800 but not all 4 its hard to say but some have had the same issue, some configurations just will not run 4 modules at DDR800. But you can try over clocking the CPU in linked mode to get it close to DDR800.
