tgriguy
Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 1501, Windows Vista Home Basic, 1 GB Ram, AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core, I want to add 1GB of memory. I ran the memory configurator, and it gave me the results below. I was wondering if there are any known compatibility issues with upgrading the ram, and if the VS1GSDS533D2 will work with my computer? Is it necessary to add ram in pairs, or will this unpaired ram work fine? Would dell install their oem 1GB ram in one module, or 2X512 modules? Thank you! VS1GSDS533D2 Details Memory Type » DDR2-533 (PC2-4200) SODIMM Size » 1GB Latency » 4-4-4-12-2T Format » 200-pin SODIMM Heat Spreader » None Dell Inspiron 1501 Details Maximum Memory » 2.0 GB Expansion Slots » 2 sockets CPU Information » AMD Turion 64 or Sempron Other Details » ATI RS485M / SB600 Chipset. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 5, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 5, 2007 I would suggest replacing the memory in your system so it will match for best performance, in some cases the system may not post or run properly if the memory does not match.
