wolfszary
Will that config be compatible?
DerekT
I have installed this configuration with no issues. Enter your BIOS and manually set the timings of the DRAM. DRAM Voltage (Vdimm) - 2.1v CAS Latency Time (tCL) - 4 RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) - 4 RAS# Precharge (tRP) - 4 Precharge Dealy (tRAS) -
wolfszary
How much do you overclock that memory on your mainboard?
DerekT
This configuration was not built for overclocking. I ran it at 800Mhz with 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v.

wolfszary
Yes, this is right. Memory is dual pumped so it will be 2*400=800MHz. FSB is quad pumped so it will be 266*4 or 333*4 for Core 2 Duo.
mmicolino
I have a similar setup to the orginal poster: Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard, Intel Q6600 CPU, and TWIN2X2048-6400C4 G RAM. The G I got off of the package label, Newegg did not indicate the "G" anywhere on their site or on my invoice. I manually adjusted the voltage to 2.1 (up from the 1.8v default) but I have not manually adjusted any timing. Is this necessary for stability, or just optimum performance? I'd obviously like to get the best performance out of my hardware but right now I'll be happy just to get a clean Windows install. I can get the system to POST fine, but it usually blue screens during either my Windows XP Pro install, or if not then during the SP2 upgrade. I'm running Memtest right now, I was able to watch it go for about 15 minutes w/o any errors before I had to leave.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 7, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 7, 2007 The modules have a suggested voltage of 2.1v.
WeaponXXX
Hey guys I have the Twin2X2048-6400C4Pro memory and the IP35 Pro board with the q6600 however my problem is my memory is running at 816Mhz... By default the board says it should have the Bus Speed at 266 however its set to 272. I can manually change it to 266 which then puts my memory at 802Mhz..... Am I missing like an auto overclocker setting in the bios? I just want the machine to run stock and to have my memory say DDR800 not DDR816. Any help from other IP35 owners would be appreciated
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 14, 2007 Just set it manually to the defined settings and that will solve that.
WeaponXXX
Currently my board is set to the defined settings and for some reason when I run CPU-Z I get the following: Specification Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz Core Stepping G0 Core Speed 1632.1 MHz (6.0 x 272.0 MHz) Rated Bus speed 1088.1 MHz Stock frequency 2400 MHz Even though it says stock = 2.4 I am running at 2.45. Because my ram is at 816Mhz I thought someone would know if I was missing a certain setting on the board...like I said maybe an auto overclocking feature. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted September 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted September 14, 2007 If you have the CPU Frequency set to 266 Mhz and it is over clocking your system like that I would suggest contacting the MB Maker for help.
