CM2X2048-6400C4 Bad Module?

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased the Corsair Memory Kit (2 CM2X1024-6400C4 sticks) posted in the title of this thread. I first noticed a potential problem with the memory while playing games. I would see errors "failure to load sky to memory" (sky changing to various different things) I have also had errors logging into windows and performing basic tasks (e-mail, internet, etc.)

I ran Memtest86+ V1.70 with both sticks and I received several errors. Took 1 stick out and passed Memtest smoothly without any errors. But when I take the stick that passed out and put in the other stick in Memtest (or Windows for that Matter) will not even boot....I think I may have a bad stick?

Note: I set the the memory voltage to 2.1 and manually set the timings to:

tRP: 4

CAS Latency: 4

tRAS: 12

CPC: 2

Mem. Clock Speed: 800mhz

(I found this information on this forum) and I did disable Legacy USB.

You can see my system preferences above.

Thanks for any guidance.
