tseeko
Greetings! I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5100-3357 notebook. The notebook is fantastic but I realized there was only 1 GB of ram running Windows Vista. I then got onto http://www.newegg.com and searched for 2 x 1 GB ram sticks for my notebook. Here is the actual link: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820145157 I received the ram and put it in, the ram was working perfect. After a while for some reason my notebook's motherboard went bad so I had to send it in for servicing. I made sure to take the memory out and replace it with the stock memory so there was no warranty voiding. I just now got the notebook back and tried replacing the memory. I put the memory in the first time, the notebook boots up, no problems. I then shut it down and leave. I get back later and I hear the notebook beeping. I open it up and I see that it was having compatibility issues. I took the Corsair memory out and replaced it with the stock memory again. I read on the description from Acer that they upgraded the motherboard bios and I was wondering if that might be a problem. I have no idea what to do. The stock memory works perfectly fine but everytime I replace it with the new memory it won't boot up and Windows keeps trying to repair it. I need your assistance, please. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 27, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 27, 2007 Please try and start the system with no memory installed and when it beeps turn it off and install our modules then turn it on and go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and then exit saving changes and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. If you have problems still I would suggest testing the modules one at a time
