Zomo
Help! I just ordered and received 1GB of DDR2 valueselect 200-pin SODIMM - but it doesn't fit!!!! It appears that the gold pins and the keyed slot are off by 1/16". What gives? Isn't 200-pin SODIMM the same for all machines? Or does HP have proprietary memory? Can anybody shed some light on this???? Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 24, 2007 That model is not listed in our memory configurator only the Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv8210us is listed and it should use VS1GSDS333 modules is that what you have? Zomo
Agreed. My laptop isn't listed there (and it's only 14 months old!). I purchased VS1GDS533D2. Unfortunately I assumed that all 200 pin SODIMM were the same - it looks like DDR vs DDR2 is different (with the key being in a slightly different position). (sigh)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 24, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 24, 2007 I would check with HP and see if it takes DDR1 or DDR2 but most likely you would need the part number that I posted for the other system.
