Latency discrepancy?

I just received my Twin 2X2048-8500C5DF and everywhere I look it says 5-5-5-15, but on the actual memory sticks it says 5-5-5-18? Why is that?

On the memory stick it says;

 

CM2X1024-8500C5D

XMS2-8500 1024MB 1066Mhz 5-5-5-18 XMS8505v1.2 07311378

 

This is where I bought it... It appears to have been used (sighs)

Probably just a miss print on the label the tested setting are Cas 5-5-5-15 at 2.2 Volts 2t CPC/CR for these modules.

Both pairs have that printed on them?

 

Im still in the process of building my puter. How can I be sure it is a wrong label? Should I send it back?

I might be able to fire up my puter tonight, if I can, is there something I should look at that will tell me whats it is?

In my bios it says 5-5-5-18. Im guessing thats the standard default? Do I have to go into the bios and tell it to run at 1066MHz and set the voltage to 2.2?

 

Im new at this.

Yes you will need to adjust the settings manually to 1066MHz at 5-5-5-15 and 2.2 volts. With your motherboard you also have the option to set SLI-Ready Memory to "CPUOC MAX" and this will automatically configure all the settings.

With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts.
