zJudge
hi..i am building a new machine and the final part of my system is arriving tomorrow, the 2GB dominator 8500. I assume with my config, the bios will automatically detect the RAMs as DDR2-667 for a 1:1 ratio with the processor's 1333 bus. This i am sure will be a big underutilization for these powerful RAMs. my question is, what cpu/ram settings combination should i use to get the most performance out my rig. I know that setting the bus to 1600 (400x4) upping the processor to 3.2 instead of 2.66ghz and the ram to ddr2-800 is always an option, but are there any other ideas? by the wayi will be starting out with the stock cooler for the cpu. the rest of the config is on my profile thanks in advance for you help.. cheers :sunglasse
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 15, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 15, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.2 volts (+.6 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have.
