BNeLLi531
I have a 2gb Flash Voyager that will only read as a 1gb drive. I tried reformatting the drive using Format (x:) /FS:FAT32 /U , but it says "invalid drive specification". Even though i set the drive letter to X before doing this. I also tried downloading the flash utility, but that doesn't seem to work either. Any suggestions to getting the drive back to 2gb??
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 13, 2007 You have to take the Quotations out like: Format x: /FS:FAT32 /U but you change the drive letter to match the one assigned to the drive.
BNeLLi531
I figured that out and i reformatted the drive with the FAT32 command AND the FAT command, but the drive still only will show for a 991mb capacity. How do i get it back to 2gb?

BNeLLi531
What might be the cause of the flash drive doing this? Just out of curiosity?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 13, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 13, 2007 One of the devices you put it in will not see this size of a drive or the controller and or memory chip on the flash drive is failing.
BNeLLi531
Is there any way to prevent this type of occurrence in the future?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2007 its hard to say with out knowing what the cause was, but those are the most likely causes. Also one more thing that can cause this is if the device you put the drive in cannot provide 5 Volts with at least 500 Mamps might also cause the drive to fail that way.
