slunde
When I've got 4 dimms in each ddr2 slot on my motherboard, the computer won't boot. What happens is that the cpu-fan goes at full speed, and i get no picture on the screen. When i remove 1 of the dimms (no matter which one of them) the computer boot as usual. I've tested all the dimms, all the slots, and they seems to work just fine. Then i reduced the ram speed to 667mHz and putted in the last 1gb. Then it booted. But the BIOS just recognizes 3008mb or ram! The same with windows vista 64-bit. Only 3008mb or ram. What to do? (please make it simple, because im not very good at stuff like this) The memory im using is Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5 Kit w/two matched CM2X1024A-6400 Dimm's (got two sets = 4x1024mb ram)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 14, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 14, 2007 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts and set the memory frequency at DDR667 and just let the BIOS set the timings.
