jminer99er
Hi guys, I have a few questions. Im building my first system. I dont know much at all about overclocking. I purchased the eVGA 680i SLI (A1) with a E6750 cpu. Orginally I bought 2 gigs of brand "X" for a $100. I went home and, thought I should take it back and get better! (shouldnt short cut on the ram, right!) So then I got the Dominator 6400C4D! ;): I want (almost) maximum performance. It seems very easy to overclock with my board, but I dont want to push it to its limits. I came across these other two sticks and would like to know will they perform better for me? They are in my price range and would like to know what you guys think? What would you do? Pros and Cons/ Advantages/Disadvantages Your Search Results for the EVGA nForce 680i SLI 775 A1 - (perform a new search) Featured Memory Enthusiast TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX Overclocker TWIN2X2048-8500C5D Extreme TWIN2X2048-9136C5D Oh, one more thing what is the diff between the 6400C4D and the HX? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 9, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 9, 2007 With that MB and CPU I would suggest Twin2x2048-8500C5D as the best choice. Oh, one more thing what is the diff between the 6400C4D and the HX? Just the branding of the modules and the XM2S-6400C4 has EPP profile in the SPD. But other than that the modules are made with the same IC and will perform about the same.
jminer99er
Thanks Ram Guy. (hmm...wheres the thumbs up icon) Could you tell me your reasoning why you would go with the Twin2X2048-8500C5D over the Twin2X2048-6400C4D. Im curious. Thank you:!:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 10, 2007 LOL well I just noticed we don't have one but I will ask our Admin if we can make one for us? And with the CPU you stated XM2S-8500 would be optimal with that MB.
