Hypertrig
I currently have TWIN2X2048-6400C4 SLI kit for my MB and is working good at 4-4-4-12 @800 2.1v. I'm getting around 5640 in Sandra's latest version. I just bought another kit of TWIN2X1024-6400C4 SLI ready memory and I have a few questions.... 1. Can I populate all 4 slots on the motherboard and run at 800 4-4-4-12, or do I have to run at the relaxed settings of 5-5-5-18, or lower the 800 to 667? 2. If I do have to run at 5-5-5-18, or even 667, Do I still need the volts at 2.1? -thanks for your time.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 9, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 9, 2007 Yes max Voltage is 2.1 Volts and with 4 modules I would suggest DDR667 at 4-4-4-12 2t Command Rate.
Hypertrig
Thanks for the reply Ramguy... Looks like I found a problem. I'll have to contact EVGA. I was running 2GB (1GB Sticks in the blue slots), Ran Great. However, when I added the 2 512MB sticks into the white slots, the BIOS reports the ram incorrectly and only tests up to 2.8GB, Vista sees 2.814 or somewhere in that area. I know the sticks are good, because I used them in another machine. So it has to be a BIOS and single sided DIMM problem, What do you think? TWIN2X2048-6400C4......Blue Slots TWIN2X1024-6400C4......White slots I guess the modules aren't on the QVL list :( the reason I got the 1024 kit was because I trying to stay under 4GB, for Vista 32. -thanks for the effort Ramguy, Have a good day! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 10, 2007 That may be normal depending on the Video configuration, but I would try the memory in arranged the other way 2-512's in slots Blue Slots and the one Gig sticks in the White slots and then load setup defaults and see how much memory is listed in http://www.memtest.org.
