Nsidious9
Hey all, I have the 800MHZ 6400 C4d ram, and that is where my bottleneck is. But I am not sure how much to push it. Anytime I touch the ram, it doesn't post. See the attachment to get some ideas. Thanks!
Triton World
too few clues, what voltage for RAM ? 400MHz/DDR800 @ 4-4-4-12 might be max with LOW voltages (1.9v), but near 500MHz/DDR1000 sounds realistic with 5-5-5-15 and 2.1v. Many report easy 450/DDR900 oc at 4-4-4-12/2.1v, just make sure chipset gets lil extra volts too. Anything inbetween 400-500MHz is time-consuming tweaking (but fun !), finding best of both tight timings and high FSB + less than 2.1v in the end: gaming at high resolution, you won't notice any differance...might gain 1-2 fps in games, little more in lower rez benches (3DMark05/06)
Nsidious9
Actually, I was able to get 1333 fsb out of my ram when I changed the timings to 5, 5,5,15, and 2.2 voltage. :) I've been running it since I've posted this original question. But thanks for getting back to me :) too few clues, what voltage for RAM ? 400MHz/DDR800 @ 4-4-4-12 might be max with LOW voltages (1.9v), but near 500MHz/DDR1000 sounds realistic with 5-5-5-15 and 2.1v. Triton World
4x333MHz = 1333 rated FSB, that is DDR667 with mem synced, you run mem with x2,4 ratio ? (=DDR800) Your question...how far will what go ? mem ? edit /// post a screenie again..you had 1600MHz FSB and DDR800 at first pic..now you run 1333Mhz and also DDR800 with higher ratio ? still same DDR800...!? Nsidious9
Yes, originally, I didn't know how to OC my ram. But after posting my original question as to how far with the 800MHz ram would go, with the right timings and cooling I am able to get it to 1333. Now I am sure it won't last as long, but hey, I saved myself $700 in ram ;) edited to add I will post a screenshot when I get home from work (http://www.digitalstormonline.com) oh, I don't have my ram linked. I have it unlinked, timings set to 5, 5, 5, 12, 2.2 volt, and the mem bus set to 1333. My system is now running 1600/1333 when it boots. Yes, I am still using my C4D 6400 Dominators (800MHz out of the box). 4x333MHz = 1333 rated FSB, that is DDR667 with mem synced, you run mem with x2,4 ratio ? Triton World
you're an idiot..soz, cant help myself..but you ASK HOW FAR MEMORY WILL GO...and you dont post your spec
Nsidious9
you're an idiot..soz, cant help myself..but you ASK HOW FAR MEMORY WILL GO...and you dont post your spec I answer my OWN question, and that makes ME the idiot? Now, correct me if I am wrong, but that makes YOU the idiot, because you fail to see that someone can learn on their own without the help of someone else holding your hand.. Here are my specs you ****. Oh and by the way, I lowered my Ram speed to 1100MHz because I didn't want to burn out the ram. But yes, the ram can run much higher than the rated speed.
