Abit IP35 issues w/ TWIN2X1024-5400C4 & TWIN2X1024-5400C4PRO

I just upgraded from a pentiumD 820 on an intel D945PSN to a e6750 on an Abit IP35. I've got 2 1gb kits (4x512): TWIN2X1024-5400C4 and TWIN2X1024-5400C4PRO. They were both working great in the old board at 4.4.4.12.

The new board will boot with either kit, in any slots, but will refuse to post with any combination of the 2 types. Starting with the default 1.9v, i tried 1.95v and 2.0v, along with looser timings, and could not get a post with either manual settings or automatic.

I'm currently running it with just the 1GB PRO kit, but would really like to get both working. Has anyone got any suggestions? Settings? Wait for a BIOS update? Buy another pair of the PRO's? Buy a new 2GB kit?

I can probably borrow some RAM from my work, but I have gotten both matched pairs to work on both channels, and memtested, so I'm assuming all the RAM is working. The board is pretty new, P35 chipset, advertised as 1333 fsb, and people have had success OC'ing (though I have only been at stock speeds)

[edit: didn't realize the OP in that thread was using the Pro version, though that shouldn't really make a difference}

The BIOS is v1, and though I didn't see the v1.1 update before, the only listed fix is "Fixed the CPU multiplier adjusting function."

Abit page for the board

btw, I very much appreciate your help.
