dimension 8300 question

I would like to upgrade the memory in my Dell dimension 8300. The manual says that I can use pc3200 at 2 GB but only pc2700 at 4GB. Why is this? Also, when I use the memory configurator utility on the website it directs me to your value ram. I would like a high quality ram with low latency. What about the TWINX2048-3200C2PT? Would this be a good option for me to speed things up? Also, do I need to do anything with my system BIOS in order to get the most out of the memory? Thank you for your time...Mark

the speed decrease is because the memory controller can't handle 4 sticks @ PC3200 speeds.

the reason TwinX memory isn't recommended is because the Dell BIOS (as well as most, if not all, OEM BIOSes) don't provide the timings / voltage that TwinX memory needs.
