Hi all,

I have a GA-P35-DS3P motherboard & 2 x CM2X2048-6400C5DHX kits (for a total of 8gb)

When running with this mb and 4gb in (2 sticks) - the system flies.... when running with 8gb (4 sticks) it is absolutely crippled.....

anyone have some tips on what i can do (if anything) to address this ?

Can you tell me the O.S. you are using along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

Hi,

Its an intel E6600, ram is running @ 800mhz (i have also dumbed down to 667, with no difference)

as far as performance - on this motherboard, there is "option1" and "option2" - and thats it!!! i have tried both, to no avail.

Im running 2003 R2 SP2 x64, but have also tried vista x64 and longhorn beta 3 x64, with the same issue.

Stumbled upon this by chance - I have the same mobo and the exact same problem, and have verified it exists in Ubuntu Linux as well.

Definitely seems like a mobo issue, I've not yet found a fix. I'm running bios version F4.
