Similar problem w/ Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo

Recommended Posts

I know there's a sticky thread already, but I've tried the suggestions there and have been unable to get anything to work.

I'm running an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo, and a pair of TwinX1024C2 memory kits, for a total of 2 GB of RAM (4 x 512 MB). I have been running the memory at 333 MHz, instead of 400 for as long as I've had this system build, because otherwise the system was unstable to the point of barely making into the Windows boot. I have managed 400 MHz now, but at something of a cost, so I'm looking for help. Below are the two working configurations I've managed:

Speed: 333 MHz

Latency values: 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6, @ 1T timings

Speed: 400 MHz

Latency values: 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6 @ 2T timings

In this area, I know just enough to get me in trouble basically, but I'm trying to figure out why I can't a) run this memory at CL2, as it is supposed to be rated, and b) run it at 1T timings at 400 MHz.

I am still testing the system, so there may still be some instability at the 400 MHz speed, but initially things look ok. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
