I am having the same question... I have built a system for VISTA Ultimate 64-bit:

ASUS p5n32-e SLI Plus MB

8 GB of 6400C5DHX memory (5-5-5-15)

Nvidia 8600GTS

and I would like to know the best manual settings for this memory... I have had some minor system hang issues and want to make sure it is not a memory problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

  • 4 months later...

Download memtest from http://www.memtest.org and extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk.

Set to Manual Unlink the DRAM. Do NOT set this chipset to a command rate of 1T.

Multiplier = 9

FSB = 266

DRAM = Unlinked and set to 800Mhz

Memory Timing

FSB - Memory Clock Mode: Unlinked

CPU FSB: 266

CPU Multi: 9

DDR FSB: 800

tCL: 5

tRCD: 5

tRP: 5

tRAS: 15

Advanced Memory Settings

tRRD: Auto

tRC: Auto

tWR: Auto

tWTR: Auto

tREF: Auto

tRD: Auto

tRFC: Auto

Async Latency: Auto

CMD: 2T

Voltages

Vdimm (DRAM Voltage) = 2.0v

NB Vcore: 1.40v

Run memtest before attempting to enter Windows. Boot to the optical drive with the memtest disk and allow for two full passes.

Results?
