CMX1024 problem in dual channel mode

Recommended Posts

I put my system together a couple years ago and installed a couple cmx1024-3200C2 modules. Everything worked fine until a month ago when one of the modules went bad overnight. I order a new one and install it last week and everything worked fine for a couple days. Now the system gives me a memory error during the post. When I remove either module and run in single channel mode the system boots up fine! I ran Memtest on both modules and both check out fine. Everything in the BIOS is set to Auto/default for timings. Could it be strange coicidence that the new module goes bad so soon or does this sound like a motherboard problem???

System specs:

MB: Gigabyte GA-K8N-Pro-SLI

CPU: AMD X2 4200

Video: Gigabyte Geforce 7900GT

Mem: CMX 1024-3200C2 x 2

PS: Antec TruePower 2.0 550w

You cannot mix memory with this MB, Both of the modules should be the exact same part# and revision. Let's get them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!
