M2N32-SLI Deluxe / Athlon 64 X2 6000+

Recommended Posts

I'm building up a new system with the Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe and an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ CPU.

I was thinking about buying the TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX memory, but from what I understand, since the DDR2 clock speed must be derived from the CPU speed, DDR2-800 isn't possible with the 6000+ processor. DDR2-750 is the best I'll get with auto-detect speeds.

My questions are these: Can I use a combination of CPU and/or memory overclocking overcome this? If so, what settings might work? Is this memory suitable for the amount of overclocking necessary?

I don't want to go crazy with cooling. I've got plenty of fans but I'm not interested in anything extreme.
