Comp won't boot with new memory =(

Recommended Posts

sry I tend to rush when posting =P, i have a Biostar P4VMA-M motherboard w/ 2 slots. My old memory sticks were 512 each. I tried putting in one old and one new, and both new, but it doesn't work either way. I haven't changed any settings in my BIOS, but it looks like the clock speed is set to 133 MHZ, and it will go up to 165. Under voltage control, it just has Auto Detect PCI/DIMM and Spread Spectrum, which are both enabled.

You will need to set the memory frequency and timings manually to DDR266 at Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.7 Volts and then the system will be stable. Or change to a PC2100 or PC-2700 module because of the CPU Speed.
