2 bad ram modules - cmx512-3200c2

Recommended Posts

ramguy,

after experiencing system crashes and hangs I ran memtest86+ on both modules individually and got errors on both. I bought 2 new ram modules and tested them individually and they received no errors.

please let me know what to do to resolve this issue,

thanks,

Jim

as for timing, I have "Auto by SPD" and for voltage, I have "Auto".

Also, I noticed that one of the modules was failing around 6 months ago, and the other one was fine, it was the first time I had tested them since I bought them over 3 years ago. then I tested both today to make sure I had the one that was getting errors to send back and both got errors. and I've updated my bios relatively recently.

thanks for any help,

Jim

With the MB and CPU you have you would need to set these settings and test them with http://www.memtest.org.

CPU Freq: 166 MHz

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%/1-1/3-3

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 166MHz

Memory Timings: Manual/User Define

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T
