SLONE9
HI I have a ASUS P5NT WS I brought some corsair ram (twin2x2048-8500c5d ) On the memory configurator they are compactable, but I can get no life at all. The thing is I was invoiced twin2x2048-8500c5d, the packaging says twin2x2048-8500c5d on the back under the bar code BUT on the ram its self it has, CM2X1024-8500C5D , XMS2-8500 1024MB 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 XMS8505V1.2 07090022-8. I am thinking it has been packed wrong ??? So is this the correct ram for my motherboard ??? Please help Sam
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 26, 2007 Twin2x2048-8500C5D is made with 2 CM2X1024-8500C5D modules so what you have is correct, and I would try and reset the BIOS one module at a time and see if you can get it to post. If it does not post with either module that would suggest some other problem and I would test the modules and CPU in another MB if you can. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 3, 2007 What CPU are you using?
SLONE9
The cpu is E6600. installing vista on the machine @ the moment with the 512 stick and no probs so far, just cant get the 8500 to boot
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 3, 2007 That MB only supports DDR2 533/667/800 and our modules would need to be set to 2.2 Volts, I would use the other memory to update the BIOS and then load setup defaults and then set the memory voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the timings to Cas 4-4-4-12 at DDR2-800 and then exit saving changes and then install the 8500 Modules and see if it will post and pass http://www.memtest.org. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 3, 2007 You can see if the reseller will let you send these back and just get Twin2x2048-6400C4 instead.
