I think I have a bad DIMM module

Recommended Posts

OK, RAMGUY.... first let me state that I have 4 PC's here at the homestead and they ALL ARE RUNNING CORSAIR... Especially my SUPER PC which is running 2gb of Corsair Dominator PC9136... I LOVE YOUR RAM! But I digress. My wife's PC has 2gb of Corsair CM2X512-5400C4PRO (2 pairs of 512b matched DIMMs) and I'm pretty sure that one of the DIMMs died. Her PC won't post w/all four in their sockets. I individually tested each DIMM and singled out the bad one. The PC will post no problem with any of the other three in any combination.

Here is what I've got in that system:

Intel P4 3.4ghz, Abit Fatality AA8XE mobo, BFG GeForce 7300, WD Raptor 74gb, Samsung opticals, Antec Truepower 550W PSU.

So, here are my questions:

1)I have ALL of the original packaging (box), labels... etc... and I'm

pretty sure that I have the original reciept (I'll have to verify that for sure)

I purchased my pair from MICRO CENTER about 2 years ago. If I cannot

find the reciept, will your company still warranty it?

2)assuming that all of my documentation is in order, and your company does

indeed warranty it, do I send BOTH DIMMS from the matched set? (No big

deal, but I need to know)

3)If the DIMM needs to be replaced, will your company be able to send a

replacement that will be compatible with my other matched set of

CM2X512-5400C4PRO?

Sorry for the novel... and THANK YOU!
