Aikon
I'm currently looking at adding some more memory to my notebook. CPU-Z says my current DDR2 memory module (512MB) is running at 266MHz with the following timings: 4-4-4-12 I'm looking at getting a 1GB module of Corsair memory; I'm curious about this, though. The Corsair specs page says the timings for VS1GSDS667D2 (PC2 5300) are 5-5-5-15 and VS1GSDS533D2 (PC2 4200) are 4-4-4-12. Whichever module I get, it will be running at 266MHz (PC2 4200), so my question is this: If I get the PC2 5300 module, and it runs at PC2 4200 speeds, will I get the lower 4-4-4-12 timings or will I be limited to the 5-5-5-15 timings? -Aikon
