Memory Performance Degrading?

Recommended Posts

I have the CM2X1024-8500C5D dual chanel kit with the cooling fan and an eVGA 680i SLI mother board . When I recieved the memory it would run fine at 1066MHz after a couple of weeks I had to clock the memory down to 800MHz to run stable. Then a couple of weeks after that I had to drop the memory to 667Mhz and now 533Mhz. The system will not even try to post if the memory is now set to operate 1066MHz and Widows is unstable above 533MHz.

Any suggestions?

Please make sure that you have the latest bios for your MB and then load optimized defaults and set the followings:

DDR voltage: 2.2volts

FSB:Memory: linked

FSB:Memory Ratio: 1:1

tCL: 5

tRCD: 5

tRP: 5

tRAS: 15

tRC: 24

Command Rate: 2T

then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! Please allow memtest to run 2-3 passes on each module. If you still get errors, we will be happy to replace them! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
