mextripper
Hey! I'm building my first computer. I'm using an Intel 975XBX2KR motherboard with an Intel E6600 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo processor. I bought a set of Corsair memory chips that are Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz E.P.P. Memory (2 x 1024MB). The board is only rated for memory at 800mhz. Will these work, or should I send them back and get 800mhz chips? Any advantages or disadvantages?? Any other recommendations?? I'll be doing some video editing, music downloads, and a few games too, plus running my business applications (excel, etc...). NEWBIE NEEDS HELP !!! Thanks! Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 5, 2007 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 5, 2007 I would just keep the modules you have and run them at 800 MHz at Cas 4-4-4-12 and you should be fine.
