Mit freundlichen Gruessen GIGABYTE-Team +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Dear Corsair Support team Hi I can’t run the ram at 4-4-4-12 (EPP:confused: , or I didn’t know how to set the parameters on the right way, it seems to work with the native SPD Settings @ 5-5-5-18, I think. I use Slot 1 and 3 Dual channel is OK. I have already tried to set the parameters manually, but if I only change the first value (4-5-5-18) the pc doesn’t start  . RamOvervoltage (+0,1 to +0,3 = 1,9 to 2,1) didn’t help too  . [Memtest > no errors:): ]. I ve asked already the gigabyte support, they meant that corsair (maybe) could help me (at the begin of this text there’s a copy in German of the result (no result :sigh!: )) Thx for your patience! +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+  The Corsair Support Team gave me that advise, that I should send the part to you for replacement. But I need that memory  (have no other ddr2 ram) and I think, that it would take a couple of weeks, if I would send it to you :(: (Germany > USA). Maybe u could give me a hint, what I could do, RamGuy. It would be really nice! cya InTesTiN
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 29, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 29, 2007 First thing, I am sorry I don't know what language that is or I would translate it so I know what they are talking about. Please translate it to English. Second thing, a 420 Watt PSU is not big enough for that Video card, you would need 24-30 Amps on the 12 Volts rail for that Video card plus other devices that also use that rail like HDD's. But to make sure you don't have a failing module I would make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.0 volts (+.2 Volts with Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test
intestin
Thanks much for that fast response! I wouldnt need to translate that german into english, the important facts are in that last part "Dear Corsair...." My system runs @ 5-5-5-18 (SPD) stable, i have no problem with this power supply unit (bqt 420W) http://www.technic3d.com/?site=article&action=article&a=36&p=2 12V=27/30A. x1950pro dont need not so much (70 Watt) i think. my next try would be to flash that bios from F10 to F11, but i need help to do that, cause i wanna try to do that @ windows, not @ dos (cause i`ve no Floppy). My problem is how to open the downloaded Biosfile with "Face Wizard" I wait already, i hope Gigagabyte answers tomorrow.... ps.: i have no errors on 5-5-5-18 (Memtest) on 4-5-5-18 or 4-4-5-18 or.... the pc doesnt boot i have already tried to overvolt the ram to +,1V +,2V and +,3V, but no chance...:(: btw: Why your response is always in the past? >Apr 2001<
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 30, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 30, 2007 Minimum is 30 Amps on the 12 Volts Rail according to ATI, does your PSU provide 30 Amps on the 12 Volts Rail? According to the Label that you provided in that Link its 20 Amps for the +12 -12 it looks like; but they do not make much sense and I think that is intentional. I would suggest testing the memory in a known working system with the Voltage and timings set manually to be sure. Or ask your reseller to test them for you might be an alternative. If you have a failing module they will fail no matter what frequency and or voltage you set the to. What you have posted suggests some other problem and based on what you have posted that I understand your PSU is the most likely suspect.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 30, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 30, 2007 I would suggest testing with a Bigger better PSU and I would be willing to bet you a Beer my friend that would have an impact on what you have Posted. I would suggest our HX520W Minimum with that system configuration. Short of that I would ask your reseller or a friend if they can test the modules for you to be sure. But please note the Beer is much better there than here. :sunglasse
intestin
OKOK, I just hope that you dont send me a bear, if you "loose", or better u "wont bind a bear on me", what means (in german) that i hope you dont pull my leg :D: I will ask a friend, if he could test my memory, and if I could test his. maybe there are new results. But now, its really time to :zzzz:. I wanna thank u for your patience again xD :flamethro

intestin
:hihi: IT WORKS!!!! :D: I ve made an mistake, I ve tried to flash the bios with the wrong program. I couldnt update the bios from F10 to F11 with "face-wizard". Someone of gigabyte gave me the hint, that I should try it with "@bios". After flashing, what should i say.... I tried it with 4-5-5-18 @ 2,1V -> no problem, than 4-4-4-12 @2,1V and the pc starts too^^ so i start memtest -> no errors. I will try it later again, when I have a bit more time, but until now it realy looks good! :confused:btw: DDR Overvoltage to 2,1 V is OK, or should I try less? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 31, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 31, 2007 Yes 2.1 Volts Maximum for these modules should be fine but I would see if the system is stable at 2.0 Volts if you can!
intestin
2,0V seems to be OK, 83% of ram is about 100% short memtested and stable-> no errors.
