hx520 and "power line/transformer"-type buzzing

Hi, this is my first post, so thanks for reading. I just wanted to find out whether I should RMA my HX520W if it makes the low buzzing noise that others have posted about. It's louder than the fan (which is darn near silent  ), but only audible from <10 inches or so... which means I don't hear it. It does change with system load, but it seems to get a little higher pitched, rather than louder.

Is the buzzing an early-warning alarm for other issues down the road? Could it be contributing to the high-pitched whine coming from my motherboard?

Thanks for any responses.

Thanks for responding.

My PSU is plugged into a low-wattage APC Back-UPS (I bought it before I knew how powerful I needed mine to be) that has surge/spike protection and current modulation, so the PSU should be getting clean current.

I live in a 100-year-old house with electricity issues in a room with one two-socketed outlet. I dare not plug my machine into the wall directly, so I'll have to get back to you.
