Hello Riccardo,

I have very similar configuration (Crosshair, 2 GB of Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4, AMD Athlon 64 FX-62, two Asus EN7950GX2 in Quad SLI). Got some stability issues as well, resolved by manual setting of DDR Voltage.

Enable SLI ready memory under "Extreme Tweaker" menu to get the DRAM timings 4-4-4-12-2T (check after reboot, timings should be like that). Try to leave all DRAM settings on Auto except voltage. Since Crosshair set DDR voltage to 2.32V while enabling SLI memory, it causes BSOD. Change it to Corsair recommended 2.1V (I did 2.050V though). After that all my freeze and BSOD issues went gone.

If this does not help you, try to remove your Creative X-Fi sound card as I read on Asus forum causes many stability issues on different configurations. See what happen then.

Btw how did you install Creative X-Fi into your system with two Asus 7950GX2 cards? I had to use integrated sound, because there is no room for any PCI card since both Asus video cards fit all the positions on the motherboard.

One little question off topic. "could you check and tell me from the Bios information about installed memory and usable memory?" Because I have 2 GB installed, telling me 2048 MB installed memory, but 2047 MB usable memory.

Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for your quick answer!!!

I have the same issue, but there isn't a problem!!! It's normal I hope!!!

2047mb instead of 2048mb...I don't know...but I have many friends

that have the same "problem" with Corsair Memory.

However on windows XP SP2 I see all 2048mb and work's very well.

I setting up the voltage of ddr2 to 2.050 (and now i have 2.09/2.10v - OK).

And the other voltage? CPU for example? I leave in auto mode?

I have this BIOS config:

--------------------------

MENU EXTREME TWEAKER

SLI-READY --> OPTIMIZED

SLI-READY MEMORY CPUOC --> CPUOC 0%

AMD LIVE! --> DISABLED

AMD COOL'n'QUIET Function --> DISABLED

NVIDIA GPU EX --> AUTO

---------------------------

MENU - DRAM CONFIGURATION

DDR2 Timing 4-4-4-12 2T @ 2.100v (2.050v)

AI Clock Skew --> Manual

Ch A Skew --> Normal

Ch B Skew --> Normal

The others setting of DRAM --> ALL IN AUTO MODE

-----------------

MENU - OVERCLOCKING

PCIEX16_2_Clock --> 100Mhz

CPU<->NB HT Speed --> 5xCPU Frequency

NB to SB HT Speed --> 5xNB to SB HT Frequency

SB to NB HT Speed --> 5xSB to NB HT Frequency

CPU <-> NB HT Width --> 16 - 16

NB <-> SB HT Width --> 16 -16

---------------------

MENU - OVER VOLTAGE

CPU VOLTAGE RANGE --> 1.35v to 1.45v

CPU VOLTAGE --> 1.40v

The others voltages setting --> ALL IN AUTO MODE

----------------------

MENU PEG LINK MODE

PEG-LINK MODE - DISABLED

------------------------

Answer me if is ALL OK!!! and post me your config...

Thanks a lot.

All other voltage/overclock options I have set on Auto. Your DDR2 timing seems to be OK.

SLI ready memory CPUOC I have set to CPUOC MAX for complete optimized memory settings since we have SLI-Ready memory.

PEG Link Mode I have on Auto settings for accelerating PCI-Ex connecting mode.

Do you have option "LinkBoost" under "Extreme Tweaker" Menu?

And what is your revision of the motherboard?

Btw still dont know how did you put in your Creative X-Fi since there is no room for it when you have two Asus EN7950GX2 installed?

About the amount of memory issue, your guessing is probbably right, RAM GUY said me similar reasons.

I have set SLI ready memory to CPUOC MAX for complete optimized memory.

And for SLI-Ready memory you have set Optimized or High Performance?

I haven't option "LinkBoost" under "Extreme Tweaker" Menu!!! I have 603 bios

installed. My revision of the motherboard is 1.04. Why?

Creative X-Fi seems that functions very well!!! I place the X-FI in the first

slot after the Onboard Sound Card...

THANK'S SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT...NOW I TEST IF IT WORK...:))):laughing:

SLI-ready memory I have set to "Optimal", since I haven't noticed any performance difference in 3DMark06 when I tried to set it to "High Performance". Maybe this option help when overclocking which I actually did not do.

Well, my revision is 1.04 too (1.04 G). Users with newest revisions reported some diferences in Bios, like "LinkBoost" option under Extreme Tweaker Menu, which increases graphics performance. I am currently solving this issue with Asus since that option is in my manual, but not in Bios (and NO, Biso version does not solve this issue).

Lucky you put the X-Fi into your system ;):

So did you test your system yet, is it stable now?

HI KirB,

It seems that the PC work now! I try to test the pc with 3dmark06

and GO FASTER!!! BTW I try to stress my pc this month to see if it work

good!!! Thanx for your availability!!! :) Riccardo. See you.....:bigeyes:

Yes that seems to be normal with that MB and CPU combo, as long as the system is stable I would not worry about it to much.

Hi RAMGUY,

Now my PC work very well...but I have a question about NON-OC'd

bios config. Can you send me...if is possible...a optimized bios configuration without OC settings...related to my pc config? Thanks for your availability.

I'm waiting for your reply.

(Sorry for my English...but I hope you understand me)

Riccardo Porrozzi.

Hi RamGuy,

I try to configure the bios 1207 whit this new settings...without any results!!!

I've used the config in your signature "What are the correct timings for My Dominator Module?" ...but in my crosshair this config doesn't work! (I've copied pass to pass this settings:

Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-8500/C5D:

Twin2x2048-8500C5D Data Sheet

Twin2x4096-8500C5DF Data Sheet

  • Corsair Employees
DDR VOLTAGE CONTROL --> 2.100V (on the Voltage Monitor Menu 1.9v)?

That does not make any sense, you will need to set the memory Voltage manually at 2.1 Volts and the TRC I would set to 24 and make sure that you have the latest BIOS and load setup defaults before you set the settings. and as I said you have to set the memory frequency at DDR800 and over clock the CPU to get the memory speed.

DDR VOLTAGE CONTROL --> 2.100V (on the Voltage Monitor Menu 1.9v)?

Probably is a bug of the latest crosshair bios!!! I don't know...

Now....I try to configure the bios with DDR800 and 2.1v....also if the menu voltage control give me 1.9v ???? MMMMMMM....ok! tnx.
