TimResin
I got the Power supply last week and before installing it I decided to plug it in and see how quiet it was. The fan didn't even turn on. Is it dead? And if it is how do I RMA it?
Wired
power supplies don't turn on without being connected to a motherboard generally speaking

Wired
he must've jumpered the pins on the connector behind the PSU where the video can't see it.

Garvin
Yep, there's a load sensing circuit in most recent vintage supplies. If it doesn't sense a load attached to the supply they won't turn on. It's a safety feature to protect the supply; in the old days, if you turned on a supply without a load attached, goodbye supply, cripsy fried. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 23, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 23, 2007 Please test the PSU in a system that supports ATX 2.1 PSU specifications and then let us know if you still have problems, but you need to connect it or short out the pins on the PSU see the Stickies at the top of this section.
