please nail down this voltage question

Here's an issue that has been floating around several forums but, so far as I know, has not been nailed down:

For every one of their motherboards using the Intel 965 chipset, major vendor newegg.com warns:

"Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting
JEDEC approved 1.8V
operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets."

And, the manual for the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 motherboard, which uses this chipset, says that 1.8V is the "normal" or "default" value for DDR2 voltage.

Yet, I am unable to determine the specified voltage for my Corsair CM2X1024-6400 (v 5.1). The only reference I have found to an operating voltage is on the data sheet which states:

"Tested at the low latencies of (5-5-5-12-T1) at
1.9V
"

So, does Corsair memory operate with 1.8V? On several forums there are references to voltage compatibility problems (including one comment to the effect that incompatible memory will not even let you into the BIOS to tweak the DDR2 voltage), but no definitive answer.
