What Type Of Memory Stick

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm new in this forum and I need some help from you guys regarding the memory stick do I need to use with my motherboard.

Here's the specs of my PC:

ASUS- PSN32-E SLI nForce 680i 775 ATX Motherboard

2.40GHz Intel Boxed Core 2 Duo Processor E6600

Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition PCI Sound Card

Nine Hundred ATX Gaming Case

GameXtream 700 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition w/SP2

and I'm going to install this VGA Card:

2-GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB PCI-E x16 Video Card

Micro Center told me this kind of memory stick but I doubt with this one.

Is that memory stick is the same with this one?

this one is cheaper than the 1st link.

Do you think guys that I can go to 4gb memory stick in the future if I'm going to chose the 1st link if that is the right memory for my specs?

I called ASUS yesterday and they said that Cosair is one with the highest compatibility with my motherboard.

Please Help

Thank you

Thanks for the reply guys

I have already do that and gave me with this code TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX

I would suggest considering Twin2x4096-6500.

I can't see this kind of memory stick Twin2x4096-6500 in any vendor.

In ASUS manual say:

Dual Channel memory architecture

- 4 x 240-pin DIMM sockets support non-ECC unbuffered DDR2 800/667//533 MHz memory modules

- Supports up to 8 GB system memory

I see the non-ECC in this memory stick

as per the ASUS motherboard manual. But I'm confue if this is correct or not

Ok I have already choose this stick.... 2GB, XMS2-6400, Dual Channel DDR2, non-ECC 240-pin Memory Modules ((2) 1GB 240-pin DIMMs)

Do I need to adjust the voltage of this memory stick? The default is 1.85v.
