Old MB or bad config?

Gian

Recommended Posts

Hello. I'm from Brazil, then sorry for anything in this post, my english is basic.

My problem is: I have purchased two memories VS1GB400C3 and tried install then in a Asus A7V8X-MX SE. They works individually, but not together

Together my monitor works off, like out of synchrony. Individually the system recognize then correctly.

I have tried put one of then to work together with a random 512mb memory (my old memory), and the system only recognized the 1gb memory. A some time ago my pc worked with 512mb + 128 mb normally.

Well, thank very much for the help.

Gian

Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the BIOS settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

Ok.

CPU Speed: Semprom 2.8Ghz

FSB: 333/266/200

Bios config:

DRAM Clock: By SPD

DRAM CAS Latency: 2.5

Bank Interleave: Disabled

Precharge to Active (Trp): 5T

Active to Precharge (Tras): 7T

Active to CMD (Trcd): 5T

DRAM Burst Lenght: 4

DRAM Command Rate: 2T Command

Write Recovery: 3T

tWTR: 2T

In the superior position of screen appears (I dont have noticed this before):

Cache RAM: 256k

Current FSB Frequency: 166MHz

Current DRAM Frequency: 166MHz

How this could be? In the spicifications of the MB shows 333/266/200...

I dont see a method to change the FSB. Maybe I'm a mole heheheh

Help me please RAM Guy =)

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, after the changes (except by one, see below) and run memtest the result is: no errors. I have tested one by one and they together...

Recently I have discovered if the temperature from CPU (processor, VGA Card and etc) is cold (like environment) then the system boot with two memories and work normally.

Certainly my PC dont have overheat, I sure about this.

In the bios config dont is possible change the FSB, its show like a fix number. Even after the changes in bios the FSB frequency still running at 166Mhz.

Is something to do?

Thanks
