Unfair business-to-consumer commercial practice

Almost two years ago I bought a 512 MB Corsair Flash Voyager for testing a portable application I was building. This flash disk is very fast, here are the benchmarks:

Last month I bought 10 new Flash Voyager 512MB to do some final tests before shipping the application with the Flash Voyager Flash drives. The speed of these flash drives are very slow. Here are the benchmark results:

If I knew that these flash disks will be slower than the older models I will surely not bought them.

I think that Corsair, after the success of the previous Flash Voyager Models, lowered for some reason the speed of the 512 MB flash disks, maybe to lower their production cost. If this happened I thing that it is a very bad practice and maybe it is illegal, because most users chose their products based on specs and 3rd party reviews.

In general the reviews are based on new models. These new models (the old flash voyager 512 MB) where faster than today. So I thing that this is an unfair business-to-consumer commercial practice.

You can read more about these practices here:

Please read Article 6 about “Misleading actions”

I also search on the forum and found many other users reporting the same problem, about slow corsair flash voyager performance. Here are a few:

I want to ask Corsair if some (or maybe all) 512 MB Flash Voyager flash disks are slower than the first 512 MB models?
