Over volting ram

Recommended Posts

Well that part is self evident now isn't it... LOL!! but thanks for the input.

Still doesn't answer the question.

Will it fry right away???

Will it take it and attain higher over clock???

Will .1 or .2 more volts really hurt this memory???

Just looking for some answers to satisfy my curiosity, that's all.

It's not apparent to most unfortunately.

right away? doubtful.

higher OC? possible.

higher voltage hurt it? it'll certainly wear it down quicker, and depending on the parts and their rates specs, it could wear it out significantly quicker.

Thanks for the opinions. :):

This is just one of those things where you just have to ask yourself... "Self... Is this gonna be worth the grief" Well... for the moment... no.

Going to wait till faster memory is purchased.

Managed to get this system running at 3.2 with a 1:1 divider. The ram is pretty much at it's limit. Go any higher and it wont even post. Memtest shows no errors after running for 8hrs so that's stable as far as I'm concerned. Just need to bump up the vcore a notch. Get the odd lock up now and again.
