commissar
i have a pair of xms2 1gb sticks (cm2x1024-6400). they have been working fine for a few months but the other day my machine went completely unstable and i would constantly get BSOD. one of the errors was a win32 error which lead me to belive the memory was bad. booting the machine with only one of the modules turned out ok, but the other would not boot. running memtest86+, one module was ok the other gave errors instantly. my mobo is evga 680i with all default bios settings. bad module xms #: xms6405v5.1 lot code: 0648096-5 serial: 533197

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 3, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.0 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
