dceremuga
I have purchased 2 sets (4 gigs) of this RAM and can't even get 1 stick to work at the rated speed on my system. I set to 5-5-5-15 and 2.2v, running 1067mhz. The system will not boot, it will sometimes post, but then won't load windows. Bios 2004 (Latest) I am running 4 Crucial Ballistic 1 gig chips at 1000mhz at same settings just fine for the past 4 months. I wanted the extra performance from this RAM, but can't even get it to post. Also, why does the RAM say 5-5-5-18 on it and the box say 5-5-5-15. Did I get ripped off? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 3, 2007 This MB will not run much over 1000 MHz with 4 modules but when you change modules you will need to reset the Bios and load setup defaults and then set the memory Voltage to 2.2 Volts and set the memory Frequency at 667 MHz and then over clock the CPU to get the memory to its top performance. And with 4 modules you may need to set the Cas latency at Cas 5-5-5-18 as well. But the SPD will be set to the defined values for the IC we use but the tested settings would need to be set but only with two module at one time. dceremuga
Could you explain why I purchased the RAM with the understanding it runs at 5-5-5-15 yet the RAM is marked 5-5-5-18? Do I need to send all 4 stick in for what my invoice states?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 4, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 4, 2007 The standard SPD for DDR2-800 is 5-5-5-18. In order to run at 5-5-5-15 you either need to manually set the timings or have a motherboard that supports EPP.
