g33k84
Hi all, Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read this post, i'm hoping someone out there can assist. My issue is that i have purchased 2 x CM2X1024-6400PRO (from what i understand is DDR2/800Mhz/PC6400 RAM - it has performance bars running along the top), when booting my computer, the BIOS identifies the RAM as PC5300 rather than the full fledged 800Mhz PC6400. I have read other posts and tried using Ai Booster to increase the voltage to 1.9V but this has not assisted. I have NO issues with the RAM in general, the OS runs fine, but it would be nice to know why it is being mis-identified (if i am in fact correct in my assumption). My current setup: Motherboard: ASUS P5W DH Deluxe (BIOS Ver 2004 - latest build) CPU: Intel® Core2 CPU X6800 RAM: CM2X1024-6400PRO x 2 GFX: ATI Radeon X1950XTX HDs: WD Raptor 74GB - WD 120 GB - WD 120 GB - WD 400 GB - WD 500 GB CD/DVD: LG DVD/CD PSU: Silverstone 650W Sound: On Board Display: 26" Samsung TV/LCD Running: Windows Vista Ultimate I can supply more information if it will assist. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 2, 2007 This MB by Default will set the memory to DDR667 just go to Bios and load setup defaults and then set the timigs and Voltage manually which you can get from the link in my signature. g33k84
Spot on RAM Guy, that did the trick, it now identifies correctly in the BIOS. Sadly, my Windows Vista Rating has not improved for the "memory" side of things. Which i find surprising given that the processing speed should be significantly larger. (Yes, i have re-run the vista check) In any case, my problem is resolved. Thanks once again. :):
