euand
Hi, I have an Asus M2n32 Deluxe mobo with Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) 800 MHz. I cannot boot the computer at all, there is power in the mobo and the lights will come on at the front for about 15 seconds then switches off. I have looked through forums about my motherboard and there is issues with RAM, is the RAM i have compatible with my mobo? what would be the latencies be for them? I'm going to try with slower RAM later on to see if i can get it to boot. Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2007 If you get the same results with either module one up I would suggest testing the MB out of the case to check for a short or grounging problem. And test the modules in another system, but normally bad memory will not cause this type of symptom.
euand
I put the latencies of 5-5-5-12, changed the speed to 800MHz and the voltage to 2.2V. I put the RAM in the Black slots rather than the yellow ones and my computer works again. I had to use 1 stick of slower DDR2 RAM to get the computer to boot to the bios and change the latencies for my New RAM. I hope this helps someone who has the same problem. thanks for the reply RAM GUY
