wangjsoo
the sticks work fine in default 5-5-5-18 1.8V. i've been trying to get the advertised settings of 4-4-4-12 2.1V, but no luck. i get the bsod everytime i choose 4-4-4-12 2.0V, 2.2V and Auto. i have the shuttle sd39p2 with intel e6600, seagate barracuda 250GB, and foxconn 8800 gts oc. bios does not give me a setting for 2.1V...it only gives me Auto, 2.0V, 2.2V, and 2.4V. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2007 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.0 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
wangjsoo
thanks for the instructions! btw, i couldn't disable the usb controller because there aren't any mouse/keyboard ps2 connections. i originally had the sticks on dimms 2 and 4. so i took out the stick on dimm 4 and changed the voltage to 2.0V/ran memtest and changed timings one at a time/ran memtest after each timing change. the stick on dimm 2 passed with 4-4-4-12 2.0V 800Mhz. i then placed the stick on dimm2 to dimm4/ran memtest and dimm3/ran memtest. then i tested the stick that was originally on dimm4 and placed it back on dimm4/ran memtest. during test#4 it started getting errors...after 70,000 i decided to stop memtest. i placed that bad stick on dimms 3 and 2 to run memtest again, but the pc froze on the logo screen. i retested the good stick on dimms 4 and 3 and it passed again. so it looks like only 1 stick is bad. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 4, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 4, 2007 I would recommend both so you get a matched set in return.
