ccenters
Here's my setup: Asus P4P900-E Deluxe with Corsair TWINX1024-4000PT Want to add another TWIN. Will TWINX1024-3200CPT work for me ? Will the 4000 fall back to 3200 ? OR, will this not work at all ? I can not seem to find any 4000 anywhere, is it still being mfg ? Thanks in advance folks.. Are my questions just too NOOB for me to get any attention here ? EDIT Well, I guess I was right "too NOOB" so going in another direction. I still want to increase my memory so I took a set [ TWINX1024-3200C2PT ] out of one of my other systems and now I'm contemplating adding either one TWINX1024-3200C2PT OR one TWINX2048-3200C2PT.. Both from Newegg The set I have now runs great at 2-3-3-6 voltage 2.75. The TWINX2048 specs show it also runs at 2-3-3-6 and 2.75 volts.. Will either of these "new" purchases play right with my present set of memory ? I have it in A1 & A2 dual channel slots so I expect to put the "new" memory in B1 & B2 dual channel slots. Am I now on the right track ? Oh, I put the TWINX1024-4000PT in the system I took the 3200 out of and it works great. Hope someone "holds my hand" on this now.. ccenters
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 27, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 27, 2007 I would to recommend mixing any different models together in the same system. Probably using 1 x 2GB Kit will provide the best peformance.
