elmore4030
I was wanting to know if useing a lower voltage is bad for the memory ,I have 2 gigs of PC2 8500C5D and I just run them at 800mhz due to I run my Evga 680i SLI and Core 2 Duo at a 1:1 ratio at 3.6gigs.My system boots up when they have been first installed at 1.9v ,but I see the recommended or their default voltage is 2.2v at 1066mhz but since I just run them at 800mhz would'nt a lower voltage of 2 volts be better for them and let them run cooler if it is stable at a lower voltage.I do have the timeing set tighter at 800mhz 4-4-4-12-2T,plus I also have the Dominator fan blowing on them.I guess what I am saying does running them at 2 volts instead of the default 2.2 volts void the warranty. AnalogGuy
If they will run error free (Memtest, Orthos) at a lower voltage, then by all means I would do so too... Less voltage = less heat = good thing!
