I recently upgraded to Vista and wanted to upgrade my 2 gigs of RAM to 3 gigs. My current ram is the TWINX2048-3200C2PT and I tried to match it so much I bought the matching TWINX1024-32C2PT. Well after getting my new ram sticks and installing them Vista would crash after about a minute, it would go into a blue screen and restart. When I go into my dual boot of Windows XP al the RAM together works flawlessly, and fast. I think the problem is in the version numbers. The TWINX pairs alone both work, but when I put them all together it crashes in Vista.

The CMX1024-3200C2PT is version 2.1

The CMX512-3200C2PT is version 4.2

Are there any BIOS settings to make these work together?

I have disabled CPC override tried the setting 2-3-3-6; 2.5-3-3-6; and 3-3-3-8. The voltage is set to 2.725. And I think the constant crashes killed my sound card because the computer can't see it in Vista or XP, I have also tried the other PCI slots and it didn't work. Thanks in advance for the help.
